Role Overview
We’re hiring a Product & Innovation Manager to help drive the next phase of Humantra’s growing global product portfolio.
Location: London, UK
This role sits within the Product Innovation team and reports into the Head of Product & Innovation. You will play a key role in delivering Humantra’s product pipeline, supporting both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD), while ensuring our products maintain the highest standards of quality, credibility, and performance across our key and new market expansion.
You will operate at the intersection of product development, ingredient science, and commercial execution. Working closely with cross functional teams including Operations, Technical, Brand, and Commercial, you will help translate product ideas into scalable, high quality products that meet consumer needs and deliver commercial impact.
This role requires someone who combines technical credibility with strong commercial awareness, is comfortable working with external suppliers, manufacturing partners and development processes, and can drive projects forward at pace in a fast moving scale up environment.
What you'll be doing in this role
1. New Product Development (NPD) & Innovation
- Lead and support the development of new products across Humantra’s global product portfolio, helping translate ideas into high quality, commercially viable products that stand out across current/new channels and markets.
- Translate consumer insight, ingredient innovation, and global wellness trends into clear product concepts and development briefs that align with Humantra’s brand and growth strategy.
- Champion flavour forward product development. Humantra prides itself on delivering products that are not only functional but genuinely enjoyable to drink. You will work closely with Head of Product & Innovation and external partners to ensure taste, flavour experience, and drinkability remain at the heart of every product we create.
- Bring curiosity and creativity into the ideation process, constantly exploring new ingredient combinations, formats, and product opportunities that push Humantra’s global product portfolio forward.
- Take ownership of driving all product projects from concept through to launch, ensuring products are technically sound, differentiated in the market, and aligned with consumer expectations.
2. Existing Product Development (EPD) & Portfolio Evolution
- Support the continuous improvement and optimisation of Humantra’s existing product range to ensure our portfolio remains best in class.
- Identify opportunities to improve flavour, formulation, ingredient quality, functionality, or product experience based on customer feedback, market trends, and technical insight.
- Work closely with operations and manufacturing partners to implement improvements and ensure consistency and quality across existing products as the business scales internationally.
- Ensure products evolve with market requirements, maintaining compliance, quality standards, and competitive positioning across multiple markets.
3. Product Lifecycle Management & Execution
- Own and manage the product lifecycle from early concept development through to successful market launch and ongoing portfolio management.
- Coordinate cross functional collaboration across Product Innovation, Technical, Operations, Brand, and Commercial teams to ensure product initiatives move forward with clarity and pace.
- Ensure development projects maintain strong momentum and clear accountability across stakeholders.
- Maintain strong product documentation and development processes including product specifications, formulation updates, and product information files.
- Drive operational readiness for launches by ensuring development decisions translate effectively into scalable manufacturing and supply chain execution.
4. Ingredient Science & Product Credibility
- Work closely with ingredient suppliers and development partners to stay informed on emerging ingredient science, functional actives, and innovation opportunities within hydration, performance, and wellness.
- Sense check ingredient choices, formulation logic, and product positioning to ensure Humantra products deliver real functional value and credibility.
- Support the creation of clear ingredient rationales and product narratives that underpin Humantra’s commitment to science led innovation.
- Continuously monitor competitor products, ingredient trends, and category developments to inform the future product pipeline.
5. Curiosity, Ownership & Product Passion
- Bring energy, ownership, and curiosity into the Product Innovation team.
- Operate as a self starter who is comfortable driving projects forward independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.
- Bring a genuine passion for food, flavour, and product creation. We’re looking for someone who is a true foodie. Someone who cares deeply about taste, quality, and the experience of great products.
- Maintain a curious mindset, constantly exploring new ingredients, flavours, formats, and innovation opportunities that help Humantra stay ahead in the category.
- Approach product development with both creativity and discipline. Someone who can think big, but also execute with attention to detail and pace.
Skills & Characteristics needed
- Minimum 4–6+ years experience in product development, innovation, or NPD roles within food, beverages, supplements, or health and wellness products.
- Strong understanding of product development processes including formulation, manufacturing, and scale up.
- Experience working with co manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and external partners.
- Technical credibility with a strong understanding of ingredients, formulations, and functional product performance.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance product innovation with cost, scalability, and market opportunity backed with data and insights.
- Experience delivering products from concept through to launch within fast paced consumer businesses.
- Comfortable working with structured product development and quality processes for international markets.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive multiple development projects simultaneously.
- Excellent cross functional collaboration skills across operations, brand, and commercial teams.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast moving scale up environment.
- Curiosity for consumer wellness, performance, and emerging ingredient science.
