About tiney

tiney is a fast-growing, venture-backed tech startup out to fix childcare. We build the app and platform that lets people start and run their own childminding business from home, and we're already one of the UK's top 5 childcare providers by childcare places.

Founded in 2018 by a team from Teach First and graze.com, we've raised £20m from top European VCs. In 2024 we were named one of the UK & Ireland's 100 fastest-growing startups and shortlisted for the Global EdTech Prize.

Over 1,100 childminders now run their business on tiney, supporting more than 10,000 families across England. As the largest Ofsted-regulated Childminder Agency in the country, we also take care of the training, registration and quality side, so our childminders can focus on what matters.

We're scaling fast, and that's where you come in.

About the role

This is a role for someone hungry to learn growth marketing fast and build a career on driving measurable results, working right alongside our Head of Growth.

We're a small team running a lot of test-and-learn experiments to grow the number of people starting their own childminding business. That means searching for high-ROI channels, from local activations and referrals to brand new ways of acquiring people, then measuring hard and scaling up what works. You won't be thrown in the deep end on your own, you'll be given plenty of support, and given the room to have a go and learn from someone who’s been where you are.

What you will do

  • Run scrappy growth experiments across channels, like local activations to drive referrals, LinkedIn outreach, referral incentives, and other new acquisition channels

  • Spot opportunities and size the potential, working out whether the ROI stacks up before we bet on it

  • Set clear success metrics and get into the numbers to measure what's working, spot what's driving growth, and cut what isn't (we use Claude Code connected to BigQuery to drive our analysis)

  • Make it happen end to end: the outreach, the materials, and getting things live

  • Craft messaging that converts, caring about how it lands and what it does to the numbers

  • Find the channels and tactics that scale efficiently, and double down on them

What success looks like

  • You're running growth experiments independently based on clear context and goals, and know when to get help or ask questions

  • You can prove what's working with data, and make a clear call on whether to scale a test or kill it

  • You're finding channels and tactics that grow us efficiently, at a cost that stacks up

  • You're learning fast and turning insights into sharper bets each month and driving new revenue to tiney

About you

You're likely to be a great fit if:

  • You're hungry to learn fast and driven by results, and you like being measured on them

  • You've got a growth-hacking mindset, always looking for scrappy, creative ways to move a number

  • You're comfortable with ambiguity, so a bit of "go and work this out" excites you rather than worries you

  • You're happy to roll your sleeves up and figure things out, knowing there's someone there when you're stuck

  • You love getting into the data as much as the ideas, and a spreadsheet that tells you what's working excites you as much as a piece of creative that lands

  • You're a brilliant self-learner who wants to get good at growth marketing

Requirements (At least one of the following)

  • A track record of ambition and striving for excellence, a strong academic record, standout results at school or university, or another area where you set a high bar and hit it

  • Something non-trivial you got off the ground yourself, like a side hustle, project or small venture, ideally with real outcomes you can walk us through

  • Experience in a numbers or revenue-focused role, such as growth, sales, analytics, or ops

Nice to have

  • Any hands-on experience running an experiment or taking a project from idea to a measurable result, big or small

  • Comfort with data, spreadsheets and charts, and a real interest in what the numbers are telling you (bonus if you've touched something like GA4)

  • A feel for messaging that converts and an eye for design

  • Comfort using AI tools to work faster and smarter

  • Real ownership and a proper chance to learn growth marketing from the ground up, working closely with our Head of Growth

  • 28 days annual leave (including a Christmas shutdown)

  • Paid reflection day and birthday day off

  • Regular team meet-ups and off-sites
