Freelance Community Marketing & Social Media Associate

Location: UK based, Remote-first

About tiney

At tiney, we’re on a mission to make early years childcare more accessible, affordable, and high-quality. We’re a small, fast-moving team tackling big problems that matter, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to roll up their sleeves and help us grow our community online.

The role:

We’re looking for a proactive and creative Community Marketing & Social Media Associate to help us engage with our audience, grow our social channels, and experiment with new content ideas. This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to community building, social content creation, and reputation management.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Brainstorming and creating engaging social content with support from the marketing and design team.

  • Responding to comments and messages on our channels in a friendly, timely way.

  • Engaging with relevant Facebook community groups and online conversations about tiney

  • Working with the team to test organic content on TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook

  • Supporting content editing (images, short videos, captions)

  • Tracking performance, spotting trends, and sharing ideas for improving engagement

Hard skills & experience we’d love to see:

  • Proven experience growing social followership and driving engagement.

  • Examples of posts you’re proud of.

  • Problem-solving and analytical ability: you can spot patterns, run experiments, and learn from results

  • Basic content creation/editing skills; willingness to learn tools like Canva or CapCut

What we’re looking for in a person:

  • Curious, proactive, and excited to get stuck in

  • A self-starter who can manage time and priorities independently

  • Open to feedback and quick to learn from experience

  • A strong interest in building communities and creating meaningful engagement online

  • Bonus: an avid interest in micro-entrepreneurship, personal growth, or early years education

  • Startup mindset:

  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment

  • Excited to contribute ideas and take ownership of projects

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and experimenting to see what works

What’s in it for you:

  • Hands-on start-up experience in community building and social media

  • Opportunity to experiment and contribute ideas that have real impact

  • Mentorship and support from experienced marketers and designers

  • Portfolio-worthy work you can showcase

  • Exposure to a mission-driven, fast-growing start-up

The details:

  • Freelance Contract: 3 months to start

  • Time commitment: 2-3 Days per week

  • Location: UK based, Remote-first

  • Paid role

💜 Our commitment to diversity

A child who wants to learn doesn't care about gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, or any of the other things that sometimes divide, and neither do we. We hire people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes us stronger and gives us all a better chance of unlocking the potential of every child.
