Start-date in September - four year course.
As part of your apprenticeship, you will be expected to be on-site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch for four weeks, and then on-site with the Toyota Academy (DE1) for four weeks (rotating).

About the role
We’re looking for an ambitious Apprentice Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the Engineering team at our Ashby site. This is a great opportunity to build a long-term engineering career with KP Snacks while gaining hands‑on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You’ll support our Engineering team and Line Structure teams to keep our production equipment operating safely and efficiently. During the Apprenticeship you’ll follow a day shift pattern, before progressing to a rotational shift pattern as your capability grows. You’ll play an active role in reducing downtime, solving problems, supporting Planned Maintenance and contributing to Continuous Improvement projects.
Alongside your on-site learning, you’ll complete a fully accredited Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship and work towards an HNC, with the potential to progress to a foundation degree. We’ll give you the coaching, support and opportunities you need to grow into a confident, capable Multi‑Skilled Engineer.
This role includes practical engineering work such as reaching, lifting and crouching. Full training, equipment and safe systems of work will be provided.

What will you be doing?
Supporting maintenance activities
Carrying out basic mechanical and electrical tasks, supporting breakdown response and helping reduce downtime across key production linesContributing to Planned Maintenance
Working with Maintenance Leads to complete Planned Maintenance activities, close out defects and assist with small improvement tasksBuilding technical capability
Learning, applying and role modelling IWS ways of working, including DMS techniques and supporting Equipment Owners with routine tasksSupporting project and improvement work
Helping deliver minor engineering projects and line improvements to enhance safety, reliability and performanceWorking collaboratively across teams
Partnering with Engineering, Operations, Technical and Health & Safety colleagues to keep our site running smoothly

Job requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you can bring:
Maths and English Grade 4 or above (or functional skills completed alongside the Apprenticeship if under 19)
Basic electrical or mechanical practical skills and an interest in developing these further
Awareness of PC systems, hardware support and basic troubleshooting
Motivation, positivity and enthusiasm for engineering
Clear communication skills, including the ability to listen well and ask questions
Initiative and curiosity, with a willingness to get involved and embrace change
Strong attention to detail and a careful, thorough approach to practical tasks
Commitment to personal and career development, with a desire to build long-term capability
A collaborative, supportive mindset and the ability to work confidently with others across the site
